We wish to achieve these goals by coordinating with the various Darfur groups and carrying on cultural and communication programs with them. We will

·         Work side by side with all Darfurian organizations in the United States and elsewhere in the world;

·         Encourage Darfurians in the US to educate themselves and train in various fields that can be used for rehabilitation after war;

·         Encourage NGOs to provide necessary aid to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in

·         Darfur and refugees in Chad;

The Darfur People’s Association of New York Ltd. (the “Organization”) is organized and operated exclusively for charitable and educational purposes .  Specifically, the Organization’s mission is to provide various forms of assistance to Darfuris and Sudanese (collectively, “Refugees”), whether located in the United States, Darfur, Chad, or elsewhere.  To this end, the Organization will achieve its mission by:

Let the International Criminal Court Do It's Work

An Opinion Editorial piece written by Nobel Laureates, Wangari Maathai, Wole Soyenka, and the Archbishop Desmond Tutu called on African leaders meeting this week to join in the support for the International Criminal Court's role in Sudan.  As well, they urged leaders to work towards ending the violence in Sudan, by ensuring that the Sudanese government, armed groups, and women leaders were all at the peace table.

The true leaders of this continent have nothing to fear from the International Criminal Court.  We need strong institutions, good governance, and the protection of human rights to tackle the many challenges we face in Africa, and the ICC can play an important role – if we let it.
